REVIEW: Retinal Vessel Image set for Estimation of Widths

Manual Measurement Algorithm

The human observer first marks the vessel edge positions by clicking a series of points with a mouse-driven tool. The image can be zoomed to any desired level and the click points are not limited to image pixel granularity, allowing sub-pixel mark-up. The edge splines are then processed to produce profiles, using a new manual method is used to mark the vessel edges and derive the vessel width. The mark-up method used is accurate to a sub-pixel level, which allows for very accurate analysis of algorithms.
